LabSpaces at the OU

I attended an Open Educational Resources day a couple of weeks ago and the LabSpace area of the Open Learn website was demonstrated. This is a website by the Open University which offers free educational resources and gives access to LabSpace to edit them. LabSpace has some rather nice Learning Tools within it which caught my attention from a NewT perspective, especially FM Quickstart which is an online conferencing tool (very useful as I am currently working on a project which involves a lot of collaboration with another Uni and this will make life a lot easier if it works!). There is also a Knowledge Mapping tool (offline), Cohere (experimental online knowledge mapping tool) and Vlog (online video blog tool) which I am looking forward to playing with asap. You need to register to use some parts of LabSpaces but it’s a very interesting space to get to know, and we would also be interested to hear from anyone who has any experiences using any of the Learning Tools…
