E-book accessibilty for blind users

One would hope that new technologies such as ebook readers, touch tablet computers and more publishers making their books available online would increase access to the printed word for blind and visually impaired readers. Unfortunately it seems that there are still many barriers to cross with many ebook formats and e-readers still not allowing access to this group of users.  Amy Mason from the International Braille and Technology Center for the Blind has tested a number of devices and purchasing models, to read her full report which is excellent and very useful go to: http://www.nfb.org/images/nfb/Publications/bm/bm12/bm1201/bm120105.htm
