Portable devices- libraries trying to meet the demands of the iPhone generation

A couple of years ago we under took a systematic study of portable devices e.g. ebook readers, iPods, netbooks etc to see if our students could use them to get access to our resources, what the barriers were, if we wanted to purchase them for loan and how we could use them as staff members.  A journal article of all of our findings has just been published:

Anderson and Andrews, ‘Portable devices- libraries trying to meet the demands of the iPhone generation’ Library and Information Research Vol 35 No 111 (2011) pages 20-32
